ABOUT US
The Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital serves as a referral facility for small animal and large animal cases requiring advanced diagnostics or specialized care. Our hospital doctors have specialized training in numerous areas including surgery, internal medicine, oncology, diagnostic imaging, neurology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and anesthesia. In addition to our referral facility, we provide routine care for small animals through our Community Practice and for large animals through our Large Animal Hospital. Our Small Animal Hospital also offers a small animal emergency and critical care service.
LIL BUB
Lil BUB is a one of a kind critter. She was born with a multitude of genetic anomalies including an extreme case of dwarfism and an exceptionally rare bone condition called Osteopetrosis. Lil BUB's conditions are not only rare, but continue to progress as she ages, affecting her mobility.
In the fall of 2015 Lil BUB came to the Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital with a fractured elbow after falling off a couch. Due to her small size, treatment options are limited. Special small tools are required due to her small size and these tools are not a common inventoried item in an animal hospital.
Lil BUB received the very best care and treatment from the orthopedic surgeons at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Considering her small size, the surgeons and staff took extra special care to ensure her surgery was successful and her road to recovery would be quick. 7 weeks post-surgery, Lil BUB was fully healed and back to her cute kitty self!
OUR PROJECT
Help us to purchase our own Lil BUB Surgery Set, so we can expand our services to other small cats, dogs and exotic pets like chinchillas and wild animals like eagles.
