SEND A BOILERMAKER TO NACTA IN 2024

Every year, members of our Purdue Soils and Crops Teams participate in national judging competitions, including the NACTA (North American Colleges of Teachers of Agriculture) Judging Conference in Twin Falls, ID, where they gain hands-on experience, test their skills, and learn practical knowledge that better prepare them for their future careers.

However, the costs associated with participating in these competitions are high, which is why we are asking for your help! Can we count on your support today?

As a student paying my own way through school, receiving donations to be able to travel with the Crops Team makes a huge difference.”

- Mina, Purdue Crops Team Member

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

Travel and registration costs pose a financial barrier for several of our student members. Last year, we were only able to support 4 members in attending the NACTA conference. But this year, we are hoping to increase that number! The more students that attend the conference, the more competitive our teams can be.

By choosing to give, please know that you are the reason our students can travel and showcase all of their hard work. Our students spend months of their lives preparing for this contest, and the generosity of donors like you helps make competing possible.

WHO ARE WE?

Our Purdue Soils and Crops Teams operate out of the Purdue Agronomy Department.

The Purdue Crops Team is a competitive group of students who want to acquire hands-on experiences and knowledge in preparation for careers in the seed, plant and agronomic business field. Their contests involve plant, seed, and weed identification, grain grading, and seed analysis, and written evaluations and calibrations.

The Purdue Soils Team is made up of students who are interested in studying, classifying, and judging soils. This group participates in both national and regional contests, which is one of the primary reasons they judge soil.

*All donations will go toward travel, registration, and apparel costs for both teams.
