SEND A BOILERMAKER TO LIVE AND LEARN IN DC

Your gift can now go even further! Any donation of at least $100 will be matched—dollar for dollar—up to $5,000!

Since 2011, over 160 Boilermakers have participated in the Boilers Go to DC Maymester program. Offered by the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement, the program allows students to live and learn in our nation's capital.

We believe this opportunity should be available to all qualified students, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we are asking for your support to offer more scholarships. Will you help make this truly life-changing, hands-on learning experience accessible to the next generation of Boilermakers?

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

By supporting the Boilers Go to DC program, you'll be giving a student the chance to tour America's most historic monuments, connect with alumni working in DC, and take a political communication course taught by C-SPAN founder and Purdue alumnus, Brian Lamb. This course, with its DC alumni mentorship program, helps to set a foundation for successful post-graduation career paths and strengthens personal and professional ties within the Purdue alumni network.

Last year, we were able to offer scholarships to 8 students in need. Unfortunately, not every student that qualified for the program was able to participate due to various financial barriers. Your gift, of any size, can help us change that for 2024.

All funds received will directly support scholarships for students participating in the Boilers Go to DC programs!

WHAT IS THE CENTER FOR C-SPAN SCHOLARSHIP & ENGAGEMENT?

Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement, housed in the Brian Lamb School of Communication, supports research across academic fields that uses the C-SPAN Video Library and offers a wide range of academic and student engagement programs and events that encourage informed, nonpartisan civic engagement, media literacy, research, and professional development.
