YOU CAN MAKE AN EPIC(S) IMPACT

EPICS is a multidisciplinary program at Purdue that combines philanthropy and engineering. Our mission is to meet the needs of others through technology-based designs, and our students are currently working to support over 50 nonprofit organizations across the globe!

Today, we are asking for your help to continue our life-changing work, which includes:

  • Designing a hurricane-resilient cultural center in Bayou Louisiana.
  • Helping develop food sovereignty in Pine Ridge South Dakota and urban agriculture in Baltimore MD and Indianapolis IN.
  • Partnering with rural communities in Rwanda and Colombia to design water distribution systems.
  • Supporting science education and low-cost farming techniques in India.
  • Improving trails and access to local parks to preserve ecosystems.
  • Providing tools and applications for teachers to help them communicate with students with hearing or visual impairments.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

EPICS started in 1995 with 40 students, and enrollment has now increased to nearly 1,400 students per academic year! Our students currently have around 120 active projects that address human, community, and environmental needs, and they do NOT charge for any of their work.

A large portion of the cost of our projects and prototypes isn't covered by University funding. Instead, EPICS relies on contributions from business and industry partners, as well as alumni, friends, and family like you to support the community engagement that makes us different from other courses on campus. Together, we can continue to make a difference!
