HELP STUDENTS SHAPE THEIR FUTURE CAREERS

Hello! On behalf of the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation, we are Emma Bedwell and Amareah Bead, the co-directors of Engineering APEX. The Purdue Student Engineering Foundation (PSEF) is a group of around 60 student volunteers that supports families and high school students looking to receive an engineering education. As the main outreach tool for Purdue’s College of Engineering, PSEF plays a key role in the recruitment of aspiring engineers. 

Today, we are asking you to help make APEX, our annual recruitment event, possible!

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT? 

Each year, PSEF hosts our keynote event: Engineering APEX. This event is an all-day field trip hosted at Purdue University for high school students interested in engineering. During their time at Purdue, students will hear from accredited speakers, talk with current Purdue Engineering students, and compete in the Engineering APEX competition, which consists of a quiz bowl and three design challenges. Not only is the experience designed to be fun for students, but also informative. Students will gain important knowledge about life as a student and as an engineer, but they will also learn about Purdue Engineering specifically and what it has to offer. 

Talking with PSEF volunteers is a great way to learn what life is like as a Boilermaker. Also, through the Engineering APEX competition, students will be able to practice important engineering skills, like resource management, time management, design skills, testing, working in small teams, thinking outside of the box, and more - all of which are crucial to any engineering discipline. Our event strives to inspire the next generation of engineers to be problem-solvers and critical thinkers.

We need your support to make to make this event possible and help students shape their future careers. All donations received will go toward improving the quality of the event. This could be anything from design competition materials, lunch, or shirts for the students.
