The Purdue IEEE ROV team is an independent committee within the Purdue IEEE student branch. We are a competitive robotics team that specializes in the development of remotely operated underwater vehicles, or ROVs.
Each year, we design the electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems of an ROV and participate in the international MATE ROV Competition. This year, we are asking for your help to send as many members as possible and bring home a win!
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?
The Purdue IEEE ROV team was founded in 2008 with only five members. Despite the challenges faced in their first season, this small but dedicated team built an innovative ROV which won 5th place at the 2009 international MATE ROV Competition. Since then, the team has grown to over 45 active members with student representation from eleven different majors!
Donations play an integral role in the development of the ROV, providing the team the resources needed to design and build the best ROV possible each competition season. Donations also help the team pay travel and lodging expenses associated with the competition. Finally, excess donations at the end of the season will be used on R&D and equipment to continually improve future ROVs.
Your support is instrumental in funding the design and construction of a new ROV each year, as well as ongoing research to drive innovation. Furthermore, your generous contributions enable us to maximize team participation in competitions, providing valuable experiences for our members to witness the real-world impact of their designs and receive crucial feedback.
