Cancer sucks. Cancer is now the second leading cause of death in America and will soon make its way to first. Cancer affects almost everyone as nearly 1 in 4 people get cancer and nearly everyone is indirectly affected by its destruction. My mom, brother, and I all suffer through life with a chronic disease and the best thing we can do is advocate. Advocacy is the gateway to healing. Healing as one and healing as all. Specially, my grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle have passed from cancer; with many more of my family members gratefully surviving cancer. Watching family members die and suffer around you from one common thing is hurtful. That is why I have dedicated my life to becoming a physician to hopefully impact these individuals lives in some sort of way. To have a program, like Buzz A Beta, set its goal to raise awareness and money for cancer is amazing. The way to end this plague is to research. I am passionate about fundraising for cancer research because loved ones in my life have been affected by cancer.
