BUILDING THE FUTURE OF RACING

Purdue Formula SAE is a passionate team of students competing in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) collegiate design series, where we design, build, and race a new Formula 1-style race car each year. Our mission? To create a consistently high-performing vehicle and foster a cohesive team ready for success. 

With your help, we aim to drive into the Top 10 in every event and win the overall title at the Internal Combustion FSAE competition!

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

We strive to produce a top-performing vehicle while developing the skills of our team members. Our goal is to reach the Top 10 in every event, achieve success in Design Finals, and claim victory in the Internal Combustion FSAE competition through informed engineering decisions. We aspire to represent the pinnacle of project-based undergraduate engineering at Purdue University, helping our team members unlock their full potential in both engineering and teamwork.

Founded in 1992, Purdue Formula SAE has consistently performed at a high level, placing in the top 10 overall out of 100+ teams for four consecutive years. In the 2024 competition, we placed 8th overall, secured 1st in the Skidpad event, and received the 2nd place Cummins Sustainable Power and Performance Excellence award. We’re proud of our legacy and excited to build on it!

One of the biggest challenges we face is bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world engineering experience. Our organization provides students with invaluable hands-on technical skills and teamwork experience, laying a solid foundation for successful engineering careers.

HOW WE WILL USE YOUR DONATIONS

Your contributions will go towards purchasing essential materials, parts, components, and services to manufacture and assemble our PF25 vehicle. Here’s how your support will help us achieve our goals:

• Optimizing Powertrain Development: We plan to enhance our powertrain using industry-standard software, which will significantly improve performance and reliability.
• Acquiring Key Components: We need to purchase two engines and the necessary modification parts for each, which is a considerable investment. However, under the Formula SAE rules, this investment has the potential to greatly impact our competition results.

Our current crowdfunding goal is $9,700 to cover essential items critical for our high-level competition. The frame, engine, and tires are fundamental components, and without them, we can’t compete effectively. With your help, we can further refine these systems to enhance performance and secure our place at the top!
