Purdue Solar Racing is an undergraduate, extracurricular team that engineers solar-powered electric vehicles that race across America!
Our mission is to innovate sustainable transportation technologies while developing foundational engineering skills. Our team of over 60 students spans the engineering spectrum and performs all design, analysis, and manufacturing, making us one of the highest-caliber student teams at Purdue. We use unique materials that allow us to achieve great aerodynamic performances – as commonly noticed by looking at our “aeroshell” (which is the exterior of the car), but we can't continue without your help.
WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
We need your support to compete in the American Solar Challenge in 2026! We plan on using the funds for building a well-developed car that optimizes efficiency through solar panels (cells). We would be able to expand our scope of work for materials research and applications (such as using variations of carbon fiber used by our composites team). Our operations team would need funding to properly plan logistics of competition fees and vehicle registration.
Your donations not only help our engineering students and their learning experience, but Purdue’s exposure to new sustainable energy sources (including industry partnerships who we network and present to). The community will always be able to hear our progress through community events – such as some held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on season occasions.
Thank you for helping us reach our goal of competing in the American Solar Challenge in 2026!
