Purdue Space Program Active Controls

Purdue Space Program Active Controls (PSP AC) is a research and development team consisting of approximately 80 students that aims to advance active control technology, with a focus on Vertical-Takeoff-Vertical-Landing (VTVL) rocketry, to compete in the Collegiate Propulsive Lander Challenge. 

PSP AC consists of multiple sub-teams that take on different aspects of this multifaceted project including structures, fluids, propulsion, guidance, navigation, controls, avionics, and business. Our current development is split between three projects: TADPOLE (our liquid rocket engine), ASTRA (our electric GNC test vehicle), and TOAD (the final liquid lander that brings these two together).

 

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

We’re working hard to allow our members to become better acquainted with VTVL rocketry while also better equipping them for working in the aerospace industry. This will be accomplished by designing, engineering, and constructing the TOAD lander to compete in the Collegiate Propulsive Lander Challenge through the development of the TADPOLE and ASTRA subprojects.

PSP AC needs your support to fund further development of our TADPOLE engine system and ASTRA test vehicle to ultimately put our knowledge and built-up systems together in the final TOAD lander.

Without your support, our projects will be on a much stricter budget and our engineering teams will not be able to create the best lander they can. With proper funding, we can afford to purchase higher quality materials and equipment to design a safe and reliable rocketry vehicle.
