Purdue Electric Racing is a team of over 100 students representing every college at Purdue University. Our team is organized into 8 departments: Aerodynamics, Battery, Business Operations, Chassis, Controls, Drivetrain, Electronics, and Vehicle Dynamics. Every year, we design, fabricate, and test a fully electric, formula style race car to compete against teams around the world in the Formula SAE Electric competition. Starting from the ground up, we construct a vehicle that is judged on design, cost, business case, and performance.

Our mission is to offer students hands-on engineering and management experience that inspires them to apply classroom concepts to solve complex technical and collaborative problems. Will you support our journey?

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Founded in 2013 by Rene Zarikian, Purdue Electric Racing emerged from our sister team, Purdue Formula SAE, with a vision to embrace the future of automotive engineering. Since fielding a vehicle without bodywork at our first competition, PER has continuously learned, adapted, and evolved.

Over the years, we’ve iterated through multiple powertrain technologies, electronics systems, and aerodynamic packages, always with the goal of building a faster, more reliable electric vehicle while providing our members with hands-on, industry-ready experience.

Designing and building a race car from the ground up isn’t just challenging, but it’s expensive. Your donations directly fund the essential tools, parts, and competition expenses that keep us on the track and innovating year after year, including:
