Purdue Formula SAE is a passionate team of students competing in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) collegiate design series, where we design, build, and race a new Formula 1-style race car each year. Our mission? To create a consistently high-performing vehicle and foster a cohesive team ready for success. 

In the past five years, Purdue Formula SAE has consistently placed in the top 10 nationally, proving the strength and dedication of our team. Your contribution helps us carry forward this tradition of innovation and excellence.

We strive to produce a top-performing vehicle while developing the skills of our team members. We aspire to represent the pinnacle of project-based undergraduate engineering at Purdue University, helping our team members unlock their full potential in both engineering and teamwork.

Founded in 1992, Purdue Formula SAE has consistently performed at a high level, placing in the top 10 overall out of 100+ teams for four consecutive years. In the 2024 competition, we placed 8th overall, secured 1st in the Skidpad event, and received the 2nd place Cummins Sustainable Power and Performance Excellence award. We’re proud of our legacy and excited to build on it!

One of the biggest challenges we face is bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world engineering experience. Our organization provides students with invaluable hands-on technical skills and teamwork experience, laying a solid foundation for successful engineering careers.

Building a competitive Formula SAE vehicle requires significant resources. Your donations will directly fuel every stage of our process, from design to competition readiness, including:

• Suspension and engine components to push performance
• Tires and materials for testing and safety
• Travel costs to compete on the national stage
• Tools and technology to transform classroom learning into real-world engineering

Without donor support, our team risks cutting back on essential vehicle components and testing opportunities. Most importantly, it limits the hands-on experience that equips Purdue engineers with the teamwork, problem-solving, and technical skills they’ll need for their careers.
