BUILDING THE ULTIMATE OFFROAD RACING VEHICLE

Purdue Baja Racing is a student-led team that designs, builds, and races a brand-new off-road car every year. Competing against more than 100 universities worldwide, we put our engineering skills to the ultimate test in international intercollegiate competitions. Our mission is simple: to develop top-tier student engineers while proudly representing Purdue on the racetrack.

Founded in 1979 as a senior design course for Mechanical Engineering students, Purdue Baja Racing has since grown into a fully student-run program with more than 50 active members. Guided by SAE Advisor Professor Todd Nelson, we blend innovation with tradition, consistently finishing in the top 10 internationally. We are hoping to keep this up and even break into the top 3 this upcoming year, but we need your help to do it!

Our team members gain hands-on experience in:

• Vehicle design & CAD modeling
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Machining, welding, and additive manufacturing
• Electronic data acquisition & systems engineering

These are the skills that prepare our students for real-world engineering careers — and our alumni prove it with strong job placement and career readiness.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Each year, we start from scratch to design and build a new racecar. Donations directly fund:

• Parts & Equipment – Engines, shocks, hardware, fluids, and shop tools
• Competition Costs – Travel, registration, and logistics for three annual competitions
• Student Training – Giving every team member hands-on engineering experience

Without donor support, our ability to compete at a high level and to provide invaluable, real-world education for our members would be at risk.
