Formula SAE (FSAE) is a student competition endorsed by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Each year we’re tasked with designing, building, and racing a small open-wheel car—a challenge that tests the team's organization, technical skills, and teamwork.
As we enter the design phase for our 2024 vehicle, we need your help to move forward!
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?
In 2023, we placed 8th out of 120 teams, including 3rd place in design and 2nd place in endurance. Some of the improvements we're doing this year include switching to E85 and engine modifications to increase power. These come at an additional cost to the team. Your support would help us pay for the cylinder boring ($800), rods and pistons ($1700), bearings ($850), crankshaft ($700), oil pump upgrades ($200), E85 fuel ($500), E85 storage ($2000), miscellaneous engine parts ($600), and engine rebuilding tools ($500).
Being a part of our team teaches students invaluable technical skills and work ethic, which they use to establish successful engineering careers. By making a gift, you can help us build our 2024 vehicle and teach the next generation of engineers.
“My experience with the Formula SAE club has been truly remarkable. I initially joined with limited knowledge of automotive engineering, but the club quickly became a great place of learning for me. I dived into mastering thermodynamics, heat transfer mechanics, engine simulation and analysis, and other crucial engineering fundamentals. This understanding has paved the way for my future career as a propulsion engineer. I'm on the path to living my dream job, and I owe a significant portion of my success to the invaluable experiences and knowledge gained through my involvement in this club.” — Carson Williams, Engine Development Lead
